Hi there. I’m James, welcome to my online portfolio.

I’ve always been a visual person. Mom tells me that I refused to walk until I was 18 months old. I guess I was too busy looking around, intricately studying all I surveyed with my eyes, down to the finest detail. Years later it was discovered that I was just lazy. Who knew?

Growing up I would excel at the important things in school such as art, video, music and lunch. Academics were definitely not a strong point in my scholastic career. I would get in trouble for not doing my homework or cutting class. This, of course, didn’t apply to the artistic areas of study.

I ended up choosing the harder path in life and by my early 20’s, I decided to get my act together. I enrolled in a basic computer course in ‘95 to learn Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator. Before I knew it, I had my first internship with an ad agency in New York. I climbed my way up through the ranks to the Art Director level.

I ended up moving to California to start a new life. Now that the divorce is final, I can! I currently reside in Woodland Hills with my girlfriend and her insanely cute son. The commute to my day job in Century City stinks but it seems to fly by as long as I have my trusty iPod filled with geek-related podcasts.

OK, enough of my rambling. Go poke around my portfolio and have the time of your life. I’m currently accepting freelance work for print, image retouching and manipulation, website design and development, brand identity, packaging, basic video/audio editing, studio musician, or anything else you can throw my way (I can unclog the hell out of a drain if need be).
