Back on the subject of my friend Art and the Pink Panther…
The man has been busy in my cubicle here at work. It seems that every time a co-worker (a.k.a. friend) comes into my cubicle they always comment on the latest doodle that Art has left behind. Be it another Panther on my white board (there are now 4), a custom illustration just for me, or a post-it note, they just seem to continue to pop up.
I’m not complaining. It’s an honor to have him here on the 6th floor with us. It’ll be sad to see the Panther production team move to their new offices in the near future. I think they’ll be in Woodland Hills so maybe I’ll be able to visit them if they are working weekends since that’s where I live :)
Here’s some pics:

I spent about 3 hours today laughing at this. I kept thinking to myself “Is that what I look like when I’m working?”
Holy crap, that’s some funny stuff.
As most of you know I work at MGM. I love it there. A few months ago they allowed the Pink Panther team of Illustrators and storyboard artists to use our offices as temporary work space until they found their own space. This was great because I’ve always been a huge cartoon fan. Aren’t we all?
Anyway, they recently got some bad news which I won’t discuss here since it isn’t really my place to do so.
The point is, my new friend Art Leonardi was roaming the cube farm and spotted my blank dry-erase board.
It was really cool watching him whip up the panther in just a few marker strokes. I mean this is THE guy. The one that has been drawing the Panther since the BEGINNING.
I posted some pics of him at work. Notice the raw human (and feline) emotion coming through the man and his creation. So sad but so cool at the same time.
Oh, and Art, thanks a lot. Now I can never use my whiteboard ever again.
MGM released movies on iTunes last Tuesday. The reason I’m blogging about this is because I had to supply Apple with all of the movie poster art for the store. I essentially took the key art and slapped a title treatment on top. It’s not the most impressive work I’ve done by far but it is on iTunes and I’m pretty damn stoked about that.
To have anything I’ve worked on appear on anything Apple related makes me feel really good. I’m working on more art for future titles so keep an eye out for that.
Matt just informed me that The Thomas Crown Affair (an MGM title) is number one on iTunes Movies today. That’s imressive as well seeing that it’s not a new release.
I’m hoping that iTunes decides to go HD soon. I’m really reluctant to buy movies from them since they won’t really look to good on my HD set via Apple TV. At least I’ll know when that’s happening before the general public since I get somewhat of an inside scoop working here at MGM. Too bad I can’t blog about it beforehand though :(
Visit the iTunes Movie Store.

So on Wednesday we found out that Meghan passed her final exam to become a fully-licensed psychologist. This was great because Saturday was her birthday so we would have even more to celebrate!
Well, if that wasn’t enough, I got the call I was waiting for on Friday from MGM letting me know that I have been hired as the Senior Designer for MGM.com!!
I’m so excited and can’t wait to start on the 20th!
It’ll be a bummer leaving all of the great friends I have made over the past 3 years at Diskeeper. I won’t be going into MGM alone though as one of my best friends, Matt, will be my boss. In addition, my other friend Matt who plays bass in the “band” I’m in will be there too as the front-end programmer. And if that wasn’t enough, Matt I mean Debz will be there too! All four of us worked at Diskeeper together so it’ll feel like old times again!!
