Last Thursday and Friday, Theo and I went into Sunset Sound to record 4 tracks. We both shared bass guitar responsibilities since Matt has decided not to continue on with us :(

In any event, it was an amazing experience. Sunset Sound’s walls are lined with platinum albums from rock’s biggest names. With the absence of The Beatles & Pink Floyd, you can get a very thorough rock and roll history lesson just by browsing the walls there. Zeppelin, The Stones, Janis, The Doors, Van Halen, and Prince have all recorded legendary albums there. The studio we were in was used to record all of The Doors albums, Janis’s “Pearl” album and Van Halen 1.

We produced the songs ourselves with Jason Gossman at the controls. Clint Welander was his assistant and an all around great guy. Jason did a kick-ass job with getting a great sound with the limited time and budget that we were investing.

I really wish we had more time and money to put into the recording but since we’re not rich rock stars, we had to make do with what was available.

Once the tracks are mastered, I’ll share them with everyone. Until then, check out some pictures.
